Holker Hall is near Grange-over-Sands and is a very pleasant stately home covered in the file on Southern Lakes and has much to offer for a pleasant day out.
The motor museum is a real find for the enthusiast. Lotus and Jaguar, a proper red Dennis fire engine. Both Buick and Cadillac are represented along with great bikes including Norton and Royal Enfield and even the Vespa. Lots of names from the past plus bits and pieces such as lamps and enamel signs and oil cans and petrol pumps. There is a 1920s garage and an exhibition in memory of Donald Campbell, killed in 1967 when traveling at over 310 miles/hr on Coniston Water. Bluebird K7 and Campbell's body remains over 100 feet down in the lake but here are detailed and full-size replicas of the Bluebird car of 1935 as well as the K7.
